First off would like to thank each and everyone of our family and friends for coming through for us, through hospital visits, prayers, thoughts, positive energy, even if simply just following along on our blog or facebook. The love and support keeps carrying us through.
Dad is in serious/critical condition at the moment, pupils not dilating (although seeing some signs today), mold in lungs, 24/7 dialysis, levels in a balancing act, and in need of a liver transplant. Doctors tell us he is very, very sick, though our faith and his fighting spirit keeps us hopeful for a positive outcome.
Dad’s major humps right now are:
- Aspergillus (mold) in the lungs, which could take up to 6 weeks to clear up (on antibiotics, caspofungin, voriconazole, zosin)
- Pupils not dilating or reacting (although seeing some signs today in the right eye) – Ctscan taken yesterday with negative findings for bleeding, brain edema, and stroke (which would all be permanent damage)
- Balancing act on blood pressure and oxygen
- 24/7 dialysis (common for patients awaiting liver transplant)
- In need of liver transplant
Dad is constantly monitored, doctors often checking on him and outside his door. Cultures and tests on blood and urine are taken frequently.
- Triadyne bed
- Nitrous Oxide
- Ventilator
- Dialysis
- Various IV treatments
- Various IV treatments
On maximum machines (triadyne bed, dialysis, ventilator, nitrous oxide) and treatments.
Dad’s visitors today
Doctors recommended that family come to see my dad yesterday.
We had a nice number of people come visit dad, about 10 of mom and dad’s prayer group friends, sister and family, mom’s brother’s family, dad’s sister and aunt, cousins and other family members. Upon arrival, I bumped into mom and dad’s prayer group friends who prayed together with us and over my dad. The number of people coming together to ask for my dad to be healed was uplifting. A very good friend of mine Sio, a Hawaiian priest with a special gift, also came to give his blessing to my dad. His energy permeated the room and people around. Was an uplifting experience.
