Even at his weakest, my dad still tries to cheer my mom up as she asks him to smile. Though a faint smile, it's still a big step up... My dad is on and off dialysis now. They did about 4 hours of dialysis on him today.
My dad got his tracheotomy procedure today. He looks better, without all the tubes in his mouth. More progress today; Speaking in a loud, almost yelling voice, the doctor asked him to wiggle his toes, which he struggled to do, and was able to, but barely. He is still unable to move his hands. My dad is showing some more signs of consciousness today. His eyes move sideways to the sound of voice, and he nodded yes when the nurse asked him if he could hear her. It also seems like he tried to lift his head up and his arm tremored, like he was trying to lift his arm. [...]
Update on Pros, 10/11: He was seen by a neurologist last night because Pros has been non-responsive and his eyes are always open. It looks like there is a small damage in his brain which could have been caused by a stroke that might have happened before or during transplant or by a metabollic reaction of [...]
Please continue to pray for my dad as he has suffered some brain injury, possibly from losing so much blood during the operation or from low blood pressure. During the transplant he lost 90 units of blood, enough to take a bath in. It was a record amount the doctors said. One of the resident doctors [...]
