By |2016-11-23T00:42:29+00:00October 13th, 2008|Categories: 2008 Liver Transplant, Update Emails|

My dad got his tracheotomy procedure today. He looks better, without all the tubes in his mouth. More progress today; Speaking in a loud, almost yelling voice, the doctor asked him to wiggle his toes, which he struggled to do, and was able to, but barely. He is still unable to move his hands. I saw [...]

By |2016-11-23T00:42:29+00:00October 12th, 2008|Categories: 2008 Liver Transplant, Update Emails|

My dad is showing some more signs of consciousness today. His eyes move sideways to the sound of voice, and he nodded yes when the nurse asked him if he could hear her. It also seems like he tried to lift his head up and his arm tremored, like he was trying to lift his arm. [...]

Please continue to pray for my dad as he has suffered some brain injury, possibly from losing so much blood during the operation or from low blood pressure. During the transplant he lost 90 units of blood, enough to take a bath in. It was a record amount the doctors said. One of the resident doctors [...]

Recovering but still not conscious…

By |2016-11-23T00:42:29+00:00October 11th, 2008|Categories: 2008 Liver Transplant, Update Emails|

My dad seems to be doing better as he opened his eyes, though he is still not conscious of what is going on. His eyes are open, with a blank stare, and blink regularly, though, they have been open for 3 days straight with no sleep. His nurse tonight put some gauze and tape over his [...]
